Early Childhood Program

For Children Ages 3-6

Our Early Childhood preschool program provides an enriching hands-on learning experience designed to support the development of the whole child, including physical, cognitive, social and emotional aspects.

The Butterfly and Tree Classrooms are prepared with specifically designed Montessori materials offering concrete, hands-on, self-directed and feedback-driven learning in the areas of math, language, sensorial exploration, practical life activities, science, geography and human culture. Children learn through their interactions with their environment; by observing, touching, exploring, building, problem solving, and doing things by and for themselves, learners develop focus, concentration, self motivation and regulation.

Specially trained teachers guide developmentally appropriate activities in early reading and writing skills, mathematics, human geography and anthropology, practical living skills, and nature studies and physical science. Children explore self expression through language, art, and music. Teachers work with students individually and in small groups, and provide lessons according to individual learner’s interests and abilities. Learners are carefully observed to ensure exposure to a broad range of materials while allowing each child to follow their own interests and pace. By allowing freedom of choice, children grow in personal independence and motivation, setting the foundation to be passionate lifelong learners.

Leadership Year

For children age 5 or turning 5 in the fall

Children who are 5 in September, or who will be turning 5 in the fall, are eligible for the Leadership Year. As their final year in the Early Childhood program, students are provided with additional specific enrichment alongside our personalized curriculum, giving older children the chance to solidify their own knowledge through teaching and mentoring younger learners, develop social and leadership skills, contribute to the school community, and reinforce skills for success in elementary school.

Summer Program

For children age 2.5 - 6

We offer summer programs for our currently enrolled students. If your child will turn 3 years old before September 10, please contact us to learn if early summer enrollment is right for your child.
