Mountain Meadows Montessori

Who We Are

A community school providing high-quality early childhood education that cultivates a love of learning, nurtures curiosity about the world and fosters social and emotional development rooted in empathy, compassion, and respect for all.

We strive to create a warm, nurturing and joyful space for children to learn and grow.

We are rooted in Montessori education’s long tradition of honoring the whole child’s development. We grow out of the legacy of one of Montana’s oldest and most-respected Montessori schools. Now we are blossoming with the energy and passion of parents and teachers committed to a new and vibrant program.

Our community non-profit Montessori school serves children ages 3-6 with full- and half-day scheduling options. We open at 7:45AM. Half-day pick up is between 12:30 and 1PM and full-day children are picked up between 3:00 and 3:30PM.

Who We Serve

Our Lineage and Staff

“The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn.”

– Maria Montessori

We are growing from the legacy of Bozeman’s beloved Learning Circle Montessori School, which just closed after 40 years. We are grateful for the wisdom, vision, and donation of materials from Nancy Characklis, Learning Circle’s founder.

Our Location

The Mountain Meadows Montessori School will be located within the lovely sun-lit classrooms of the Hope Lutheran Church community facility on the south side of Bozeman, with access to a large playground and the 10 acre green space campus with grass, trees and natural areas.

Our Community Our Values

Our Community Our Values ◦

Mountain Meadows Montessori is a secular preschool dedicated to the partnership of families and educators in developing enthusiastic lifelong learners. We are committed to building and sustaining a welcoming community that supports equity and inclusion, and we welcome diversity in all its many forms, including diversity of religion, race, ethnicity, language, gender, sexual orientation, ability, socioeconomic status, and family structure. We strive to foster empathy and respect in our learners by nurturing an early learning environment that promotes awareness and understanding of diverse cultures and identities and instills commitment to justice and fairness.

Hear From Our Families

“I grew up in a household deeply ingrained in early childhood education. This program, and these teachers were always my first choice for my own family, and I have been so grateful to see both my children thrive in this environment”

Kathleen Lefstad - Parent

“Within the learning environment Christine, Jenna, and Ali created, our daughter thrived.  She embraced education through nature, geography, culture, and art.  She also developed a respect and empathy for others that will help guide her for years to come!.”

- Chaundera Wolfe & Jesse Gentner
